On 11 February 1998, eighteen major Faroese private companies and individuals founded Atlantic Petroleum Ltd. (P/f Atlants Kolvetni). The initial share capital invested by the founders was DKK 25,500,000. The share capital can be increased by DKK 30,000,000 by public issue.
